Amex Plat is actually a good add-on option if flying VS/DL in the cheap seats, there are Amex lounges in LHR T3, JFK T4, LAX etc all handy for VS departures, and the card will get you into DL SkyClubs when flying DL domestically as well as internationally.
Worth noting for our friends across the pond who may not be as familiar with DL: As it pertains to the DL Sky Clubs, beginning February 1, the Amex Plat will be limited to 10 Sky Club visits per year unless you spend $75,000 annually on the card. This change (along with broader changes to the SkyMiles program) were announced in September 2023 and caused quite an uproar, similar to what is happening with BA today.
