This is just a reminder that it is now 2025, American has announced that Citi will be the sole partner for their Aadvantage cards in the future, and the Citi Aadvantage Executive card still cannot be added for use on your phone via Google Wallet -- despite the fact that:

• All Citi non-AAdvantage cards support this
• All American AAdvantage non-Citi cards (i.e. Barclays) support this
• The same card can be added to Samsung Pay or Apple Pay with no issues
• The same card can be added to Google Pay for online payments with no issues (just not Google Wallet for mobile NFC payments).

"Executive response" teams at both American and Citi have been stymied by this and no one knows why it's the case, but nobody will talk to each other to fix it.
This is the dumbest card limitation I have ever seen. Nobody even knows why it exists. Half of the reps you'll talk to don't even know that it exists and will try to tell you the card can be added to Google Wallet until you literally show them the text on their own website that says it can't. Then they promise to look into it, and you never hear from them again.
