Functionally it is only good as cancellation insurance (or the rare flight that is actually delayed overnight). So that's why, perhaps paradoxically, I use the Citi card for CapeAir but not for AA, and I use my Delta Reserve Amex for AA after I've exhausted my 2 annual Amex Plat claims for AA (which typically happens very quickly, LOL).
If anyone knows of a carrier that would provide blanket missed-connection insurance for any 3hr+ total delay, I would be all ears.
