Some FFP, and DL is one of them, have tie-ins to hotel chains, DL has Hilton where status is reciprocated and status for both can be earned with either. I just received DL Gold Medallion without setting foot on a DL aircraft in the last 2 years. This goes against the way BA and BAH are doing this and will alienate hotel chains from BA, who also offer Hhonors Diamond with GGL.
