There is a reason southwest does well in the US. There is a reason majority of the plane is filled with economy passengers.
Majority of the world isn’t affluent or can afford to be BA Silver, Gold, or Bronze, and use OTAs to book.
I didn’t lump everyone, just majority of the general public deems cost and schedule as
the major factor for choosing a flight, not the FFP due to financial constraints.
People who view the journey as part of the vacation and don’t want the cheapest option are not financially constrained and are doing okay financially.
Again: Price, schedule, and product. Pick 2; unless you have no financial constraints.
That's really interesting because everytime I have ever looked on Google Flights for domestic US flights in economy, I would guesstimate that WN has been more expensive 8 or 9 times out of the last 10. This is for future bookings (3 months) and also last minute bookings (next day). I have never considered from cheap, at least not with respect to NK, F9 or G4.
