Exactly. The thing for MPC is you need to call and ask, as agents are usually quite lenient on that.

OP mentioned lack of communication and impersonal, but you can't blame the airline for not reaching out. It is almost impossible to reach out to everyone. Maybe DM's will get a call or message, but quite unlikely for Gold.
