1. Le Parker Meridien (pool, HUGE gym, in fact, it's membership based too)
2. Millenium Hilton (2 pools, great gym)
3. New York Palace (very nice gym, nice spa)
4. Sheraton Manhattan (pool, nice gym, also can use Sheraton New York across)
It's amazing that the GH NY doesn't at least have steam room/sauna or a spa!
Oh well......I can only hope a premier Hyatt is going to be in NYC soon......I'm actually staying at the Millenuim Hilton for my last 4 visits to NYC.....even with FFN and TRYGNY and NEWGNY going on I haven't been taking advantage of them!!!! PLUS, the GH NY is almost always MORE expensive than the Millenium Hilton.....no idea why....
You bring up the most important point of all the posters here in recent time
which is you aren't staying at the Grand Hyatt because the pricing is out of line with the property and the overall value offerred.
I too am very concerned with 275 to 465 average daily rates plus taxes plus parking. It's a new growing concern at a number of Hyatt properties. For those of us who are die hard Hyatt fans and want to stay Hyatt it is presenting a considerable challenge in a number of markets.
Frequently the GH NYC is double the rate of what other higher quality or similar properties are offering.I'm sure it's a delicate balance trying to recoup the 65 million dollar renovation costs in the short term and pleasing the new and long term guests
I still like the hotel very much......minus a few of the shortcomings.
I agree the Hilton Millenium has some of the best value in NYC including comfy beds and flat panel plasma tvs in every room.
