I agree with your example, but most of the good examples seem to be applicable to heavy users and/or spenders rather than average spenders and travelers.

I think I'm more in Hawkeyefan's situation where the Hilton points are better left as an afterthought than a focus because it seems that the amount of points for an impressive redemption need to be hundreds of thousands now.
