Hotel: The Kahala Hotel & Resorts Yokohama
Room booked: The Kahala Grand Twin
Rate: $286.25
Early check-in: Arrived around 11am but the room was not ready
Late check-out: Offered 4PM check-out but did not need it
Room upgrade: Was told that no upgrades were available on my date. I did not check actual availability.
$100 food and beverage credit: At check-in, I was told that the exchange rate will be determined at noon. When I returned, I was told that it would cover 15500 JPY.
Breakfast: Buffet. Quality of the food was good, but selection was rather limited IMO. There were 3 manned stations: 1 omelet station, 1 freshly grilled fish station, 1 station where the person sliced some pork belly for you. Coffee was via a super-automatic espresso which pumped out rather bad coffee.

Comment: This hotel seems more targeted for domestic staycationers than foreign guests. I had to switch to using my mediocre Japanese more often than I would've liked. This was especially bad at the Italian restaurant, OZIO. The English paper menu I was provided for the course that I had ordered was out-of-date and nothing on it matched what I was provided. I needed to reference the digital menu on my phone instead. Service at the restaurant had more hiccups than I would've liked, though the food itself was very good.
The room itself has very nice. My biggest complaint about it is that the console to control lights has a bright light indicating where the toggle for lights by the foot of the bed is located. This console is on the console table and cannot be switched off without turning on the lights. A welcome amenity was provided in the form of fruits which was delivered to the room.
