Yes, the PlusPoints owner must be on the reservation, which is good for the overall community even if it’s unfortunate for people trying to do a favor for friends or family. If StW could be used by anyone, the black market would be robust enough that it might well have a noticeable effect on clearance rates for everybody else… and, of course, UA would cut the feature and gut PlusPoints the next year due to the revenue loss.

When launched, they also required a 30-day advance purchase, which would have made 1/16 a no-go anyway. Not sure if they kept that provision or not.
