Second class is surprisingly quiet even by Chinese standards (though by for Swiss or Japanese standards).

My only complaint about the trains in general is the messy boarding process, especially for those of us with passports at stations where not all ticket gates have passport readers. Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying to have a 5-year renewable ID-like card + face recognition that would be linked to my passport and would get me through boarding and all the attractions.
