I think this is a little bit of a misconception. Delta shows your current Medallion status through the app and website for the full 12 months (assuming you gained it from month 1). Click on your wallet and your 'card' it'll show "valid thru 1/25", that is; your 2024 status year ends 1/31/2025. So whatever you can see on December 31, 2024, for example, shows how many MQDs you earned that will qualify you for whatever it does for 2/1/2025-1/31/2026, and what your 'current' status is as at todays date, through until end of January. Your 'tracker' states you're a "SkyMiles Member", and this is technically correct, as it says this right beneath "2026 status progress" and unless you have reached a SM, GM, PM or DM MQD threshold already, the tracker is correct stating your 2026 status is "member".
The confusion is people go into their Skymiles account and do not see themselves as SM, GM, PM, DM for '2025' but this will reset on 2/1 when the actual status year commences. Not during the last month of when it ends from the prior status year. Put another way - what your tracker is showing you - for every month in 2025 is what you've accrued towards what you'll 'become' on 2/1/2026. Not what you are going to be turned into on 2/1/2025. That, you should already know from everything you did up to 12/31/2024.
