We've done this quite frequently with our Barclay Aviator Business card, and it seems to not be an issue. Of course Amex may have a different view. In my case I would only do it once: pay off my $30K balance later this week and then charge an additional $10K. What is the risk? Shut down my card account(s)? Refuse the second charge? I suppose I could call before I make the second charge and see what/if there are any repercussions. I have no history of credit cycling with Amex otherwise.
