Thanks for the report. That's what I expected would happen to you.

I do hate these airlines that impose stupid, impossible weight restrictions for carry-ons, since you never know whether they'll be enforced. Like last year, I was flying Air New Zealand and they also have an 8 kg carry-on limit for domestic flights. I tried to figure out on the web whether it was enforced, and I got different answers. Since they were only going to charge me US$10 in advance to check the bag, I did that, even though I didn't want to. I suspect Aerolineas will NEVER actually enforce their 8kg limit, but it's impossible to know.
