I get Spain is small by Canadian standards, but it's not a small country in general. As others have mentioned, maybe go to Granada, and then just take the Vueling flight from Granada to Barcelona. The sweet spot for high speed rail is around 600km and Seville to Barcelona is well over 1000 since you have to go via Madrid so it's sort of a no brainer to just fly.
