Is it normal for the connection desk to check visa for final destination 3 stops away
I am flying the following path


SIN-BKK-MCT (stop for a few days)
MCT-LHR-EWR (I work in the US but am Canadian)

In BKK while transferring to my flight to MCT the connecting desk agent asked for my US address and proof of my US Visa, and took photos of the visa. Is that normal? I’ve typically only been asked about my US Visa on the final check in leg and not my address - especially since I’m Canadian and can have visa free travel to the US.
