Even if you prepay $30k you’d still be completely maxing out your $10k credit line. I am used to seeing much higher credit lines with Amex, so I guess your history with Amex is not supporting a higher credit line - I doubt they will play along with your request. Guess you can pay $40k and then charge $40k - don’t see how that wouldn’t work. Calling them is definitely the best option.
