I don't care what the rate is like, there is no way I would book this property based on the consistent reports of billing and service problems. Just asking for trouble - a classic example of "won't happen to me" - until it does.

As for the Essex House (aka the "JW"), it's a classic property in an excellent location with a decent (for NYC) Marriott breakfast. Room assignment can be hit or miss and they will sometimes refuse late checkout but I would absolutely choose it over the LC.
