Correct--booked with Qatar and credited to AA. On my AAdvantage page, it shows as base miles with bonus (not based on dollars). It appears that AA's math is correct given the fare classes they are tracking me to. It's just that their fare classes mapped Qatar > AA of D > I and R > C. I am flying a similar itinerary in March in all QR I so will see how that maps.
Just for simple math (I was on an open-jaw) the JFK - DOH legs were:

Outbound:
QR Class D
AA Class I
Loyalty Points: 12,738. Base: 6,704. Status: 2,682. Cabin: 3,352.

Return:
QR Class R
AA Class C
Loyalty Points: 19,442. Base: 6,704. Status: 2,682. Cabin: 10,056.
