Edit: It's more than a guess now. From the RJ Membership Tiers page (
https://www.rj.com/en/royal-club/wel...mbership-tiers),
bolding mine:
* Every time you fly an eligible RJ
or oneworld flight you earn tier miles that count towards your upgrade to the next higher tier
Under
'Royal Club' > 'Earn' > 'Earn Miles' menu items you'll also find:
"Tier Miles are earned through flight activities with Royal Jordanian
and our oneworld partners and count towards your upgrade to a higher membership tier."
And:
"Award Miles earned are calculated based on the distance traveled, fare basis, cabin of travel and your membership tier."
I guess with
oneworld partner airlines the award & tier miles earned are identical and are calculated based on the distance traveled, fare basis, cabin of travel
BUT NOT your membership tier. Which is why RJ don't seem to see a need to also mention the tier miles in their online mileage calculator.
In the RJ online mileage calculator for RJ flights only award miles seem to change with membership tiers, not tier miles.
