ba.com bookings not working, but App is, for days now.

Have been trying to book on ba.com for Jan, and get the line-drawing of ba logo "finding flights" for minutes on end, for 4 days now, and never get a result. However the App finds the flights immediately but won't let me choose seats without paying first. Any logic on ba.com not finding flights (tried other destinations)? And any way around the app not showing "Gold" seats before paying please?
