One benefit is the car park. Parking is at a premium in central Cambridge, and usually underground or in a multi-storey. Those with nice cars might find this car park the easiest to navigate out of the central Cambridge hotels.
Yep it was easy to get to considering Cambridge is awful for congestion….coming down from Norwich my Nav took me around the perimeter and in from the west, much easier than the dreaded Newmarket road….definitely come in via the M11.

After a spot of shopping we ( my lady and I ) returned to the hotel to use the spa….

SPA - to be honest we wasn’t overly impressed, yes it looks very nice but has many annoying aspects which defeats the objective of a spa.
Firstly there is no drinking water tap, one has to come out of the spa and into the gym, this means using a separate entrance card and is a faff , I should imagine the gym folk wouldn’t be to impressed with folk in and out leaving a trail of water, luckily I took my water from my room and re topped after.
Secondly the sauna is very small, 3 persons max and not particularly hot so you get folk sitting in there for ages and it’s almost always busy , then you have the kids who keep poking their heads in to speak to their parents….yep I gave up.
Thirdly there is no loungers, just a few tables and chairs…no biggie but again not exactly relaxing.
Didn’t try the steam room and the jacuzzi was permanently busy , it didn’t look very powerful.
The changing rooms are small , the monsoon showers are not powerful and there was no soap in the dispensers, oh and only two showers.
To conclude take water in with you and cross your fingers there is no more than a few people in there ….oh and take some shower gel too.

GYM - looked nice when I popped in, will use it in the morning before breakfast and review it then.

Now relaxing in room deciding where to go for dinner tonight, we are thinking the ivy, probably have a drink in the bar here too……will report back!
