With CX if you do SFO-HKG-TPE it might be cheaper than booking SFO-HKG and HKG-TPE separately, but good luck finding CX's SFO-HKG availability 😄
Oh weird, I remember reading this ( https://upgradedpoints.com/news/alas...e-partnership/ ):
"Furthermore, thanks to Alaska Airlines’ free stopover policy on award tickets, you can visit Taipei and add an additional short-haul flight to another city, like Hong Kong (HKG) or Fukuoka (FUK), without needing to pay more miles, so long as the total flight distance is less than 7,000 miles."

So I thought I didn't need to pay more. I did find CX sfo -> HKG availability lol, but its in economy (Its a little late I think for 1 person to book for a trip in J/F for March, but I'm booking for 3, so I figured we'd just be in economy). If all else fails I might just book a cash flight and just go that way.

But yeah, I'm looking at the flights from SFO -> HKG then HKG -> TPE (or SFO -> TPE then TPE -> HKG) and I see for CX that its all on the Refundable Main and "low fare" alert.
