I'm trying to decide where to visit. At first I was thinking Taichung or maybe Kaohsiung as it's a relatively close big city and easy to get to. However, doing some more research, I see Jiufen is also highly recommended.
I'd say my main interest going anywhere is seeing anything unique that can't easily be found elsewhere whether it is man-made, modern or old, natural.
Also, since it's close to chinese new years, any interesting events or decorations.
And lastly food (ie. street food)

Any thoughts?
