Quick question. Just want to make sure I'm remembering correctly as it's been a long time since I've booked for anyone but myself and spouse.

Am I correct that if i am booking an award ticket for myself with another person on the same pnr, I can book anyone as the second person (friend, relative, anyone) without registering as part of family account, but if i book a ticket for someone WITHOUT ME as a traveling party, THAT'S when I have to register them as family?

Is this correct or am I remembering wrong? Thank you.
