The few things I’ve figured
1) CX website is useless - you can use multi-city to assist you to plug in stops both ways but can’t do AKL-SIN as first sector (that’s blocked by the IT)
2) CX schedules for regional routes aren’t loaded really for second half of the year
3) July/August has aggressive inventory management already, no I-class loaded HKG-AKL during this period
4) There is rather aggressive married segment management going on with SIN
5) if intent on booking CX can do via Expedia or travel agent
Because of the shenanigans, the only real other OW cheaper business option oddly is BA via Sydney…..
Try Expedia if you haven't already. I have found it doesn't give you complete free reign but does give you a few more options in some cases if you play around with it.
CX IT in general is crap.
It's not just regional routes that aren't fully loaded. They have said in PR they are going year round daily on ZRH and there are still dates in second half where I can't find the flight.
