Yes, it is this above everything else that is especially infuriating: the lack of reasonable notice. All the more so as the other substantial changes (the harmonisation of the start of year to April for everybody) was done with plenty of advance notice. If there were other significant changes to take place at the same time, you would have expected them to be announced at the same time. The way it was announced therefore seems particularly sneaky and reflective of bad faith towards their FFers.

That said, reading between the lines, there seems to have been internal disagreements within BA and the fact that the changes were announced so late seems to have been the consequence of these internal tensions and carries a whiff of panic within it. Regardless, it remains an exceptionally shabby way to treat your frequent flyers and the contrast with the FB changes and the care taken by FB to minimise any potential impact on the reasonable and legitimate expectations of FFP members is indeed quite stark.
