I am flying MNL <> NRT on ANA. Turns out my MNL > NRT is operated by Philippine Airlines but codeshared under NH5338 (while NRT>MNL is normal ANA). I am a Krisflyer member so I always use Krisflyer instead of ANA Mileage Club on my ANA flights.
I got an email from ANA today with a bunch of pre-flight info including code share info
It states that: Earn miles for either ANA mileage club or the partner airline’s program.
In that case does this mean that my Philippine Airlines flight booked thru ANA codeshare (NH5338) will not earn any Krisflyer miles? I tried calling ANA but was on hold for an hour with no luck, and sent an email as well but told it would take a few days (my flight is this week). I have a feeling Philippine Airlines would not know if I can earn Krisflyer on their flight either.
Thanks in advance!!
In Star Alliance, the operating carrier matters for mileage accrual which is PR in your case for MNL-NRT.
So for KF accrual, a PR-operated flight, even with a NH marketing carrier code share flight number, will not earn any KF miles.
You may be able to earn on NH (ANA) when crediting that flight as they have a partnership with PR.
Your return on NH (operated by NH) should earn in KF depending on your fare bucket.
