Well actually it is, even if your apparent conspiracy theory you won't share is different. UK and US will use different methods, and sometimes these are upped. Perhaps you missed the release of government papers recently which detailed that the Army was once deployed at Heathrow in direct response to a believed terrorist threat - and just how visible they were. Perhaps you've forgotten the attack at Brussels airport in 2016, which would likely not have happened if IST-style controls had been in place.

Would it be reasonable to assume if this doesn't affect you then you don't travel to India? If so, I'd just say there are many people here who have or do, and will have seen how security works in that country. I'd say they are best-placed to speak with a degree of authority.
