  • A Business Class booking for a trip covering 11,000 miles that is booked with AA/BA/IB and credited to Finnair Plus will therefore earn at least 16,500 Tier Points (37% of the way to Gold and 20% of the way to Platinum).
  • Platinum & Gold elites enjoy all the usual OneWorld privileges (in the same way as British Airways Gold & Silver members) and there aren't any exceptions to this.
  • Once a flyer has reached Finnair Plus Gold status they can purchase up to 22,500 Tier Points using Avios (at a rate of 1 TP/3 Avios).
Is that all correct or have I misunderstood or, worse yet, missed out something important?

As someone who does a few TATL Business Class flights between Europe and the US West Coast each year, Finnair Plus looks very promising to me, but I'd like to check that I haven't allowed a gaping hole in my knowledge to send me astray. Is this a program that you'd recommend to someone who, mostly, travels between Europe and the US on his own money?

You can reach milestones

As Basic you receive 3000 Avios with 12'000 TP
As Silver you receive 2 Lounge passes with 20'000 TP
As Gold you receive 2 Upgrade Voucher with 55'000 TP
As Platinum you receive 4 Upgrade Voucher with 95'000 TP

As Gold you receive 4 Upgrade voucher every year as long as you retain the tier
As Platinum you receive 12 Upgrade voucher every year as long as you retain the tier
As Platinum Lumo you receive 24 Upgrade voucher every year as long as you retain the tier

Upgrade voucher can be used to upgrade to a higher cabin class.

In Europe you need 1 Voucher one way from Y to C.
Long haul you need 2 Voucher one way from Y to PE. 3 from PE to C and 4 from Y to C.


Then when you are flying with BA, AA, or IB you receive bonus tier points
As Silver 10% more
As Gold 15% more
As Platinum 25% more

This made TP runs to the US more attractive. With your 11'000 BA flights and cabin class 150% + 10% to 25% you would get between 18'150 to 20'625 TP
