Post 7 got me thinking that it's possible that the inter-province policies might not be finalized yet and/or could have evolved since the initial announcement of 240 hours was released.

So, I sought clarity on a bunch of different airline websites. I was unable to find any that explicitly said you could exit through any province you pleased if you provided a specific entry point (e.g. CAN).

Most of theoe interfaces struck me as low quality and dumbed down, so I didn't think it was appropriate to introduce them into our conversation here, at least during this transitional period in which we haven't seen any data points yet.

However, one airline site (can't recall the airline off hand, but definitely a major international carrier) directed me to the following official looking webpage (instead of TIMATIC jargon).

In light of the fact that airline check-in staff typically don't rely on non-standard sources, I'm quite dubious.

On the other hand, if that webpage really does convey the intent of Guangdong MPS, there may be some wrinkles that still need ironing out, and possibly cases of being permitted to fly, but learning upon arrival that you'll only be permitted to exit through ports deemed eligible by the person who grants your entry permit (these sorts of turf wars aren't uncommon in China).
