Well, I'm renting a car this weekend to travel out of the city, I will probably return it (in the CRZ) on Saturday, but if I wait until Sunday, then I'll have to pay the CRZ toll.
I don't suppose there's been any update to post #88 about changing the system to allow EZ-Pass pricing via the TollsByMailNY payment portal? I do see the page where you can register your rental vehicle's license plate and date/time of rentals to (hopefully) over-ride any charge to the rental agency's account, but it doesn't specify whether it will charge the toll by mail rate (assumed) or if on a subsequent page there will be a way to attach your EZ Pass account. I guess once I pick up the car, I will register and see what it looks like.

FWIW, I also just emailed the Central Business District Tolling Program ([email protected]) asking about this, but I suspect I won't hear back before Sunday, unless they're all working the weekend to get this activated!

ETA: I plugged in the license plate number from a recent rental, there is only the option to pay by credit card, presumably at the full TBM rate, but it looks like they could "easily" add an "EZ-Pass" tab and let you pay via your account.
