Re: BofA EQMs:
I called MVP Guest Care in mid-December after my December award miles posted from the BofA card and they said it's 8-12 weeks from the purchase activity that caused you to reach any of the $10k spending thresholds for the 4,000 EQMs to post. They said it doesn't matter what your statement closing date is or when your award miles normally post each month. They said BofA runs the report on the 1st of each month and then takes up to 12 weeks to transmit the info over to Alaska. They said earlier in the year BofA was EQMs were posting on the shorter end of this because spend activity wasn't that high, but as more people raced to reach a spend threshold at the end of the year (after they knew what their flying was going to truly be), it's definitely been taking more in the 8-12 week range. I reached the $30k spend in end of November and was still dropped to General Member on 1/1. I still appear on the upgrade waitlists for my trip next week but I'm sure that won't work when they go to process it.
I knew this was a possibility as the fine print always said 8-12 weeks. Best strategy is to reach the spending thresholds by end of September if you really need that EQMs from credit card spend for flights in January.
