UA and DL got rid of F a long time ago, but now DL is adding ultra premium business lounges that didn't exist a decade ago. They know they have to keep up.
However BA is introducing a new First Class Suite and have promoted it as the only transatlantic First Class between the UK and USA esp LHR to JFK, British Airways are very much interested in maintaining First as a distinction from other airlines on these routes
