SQ has better food, service, and lounges, but I prefer the BA Suite because I am 6’3” with size 13 feet. SQ seats have a width of 25“ and a pitch of 60“, permitting them to claim a 78“ flat bed if measured diagonally, assuming that you sleep on your side and can get your big feet into the little cubbyhole in the corner. A SQ bulkhead seat has a much wider space for your feet. The SQ seat blocks the first of two windows and has no door. In my opinion, the BA Suite is better than the average business seat and better than the SQ business seat.
SQ definitely used my body doppelganger (vertically challenged but more than a bit on the rotund side of things) as the dummy for their J seat. It's actually ideal for short fat people. But I think it would be sub-par for anyone taller, and I've heard complaints as such. Not quite sure why everyone thinks it's an absolutely no-brainer over BA: it is better in many ways but nowhere near all.
