On one of the menus below, all three starters contain cheese. I think that's the one that has cheese or cheese as the second meal? Wow, that would put you in a difficult decision.

It would seem that no-one is given the job to look at the menu as a whole, to check there's a balanced choice.

This has been covered in other threads, but I think that may be one of the worst menus I've seen in terms of reducing choice for those with certain intolerances/allergies. I said, in a different thread, that BA seem to be moving towards more vegetarian offerings (which incurred wrath from those that think this is a good thing), but in doing so they don't appear to have thought it through properly. I expect they did a survey and found that most customers would prefer them to reduce choice ... or some such nonsense.

Btw, did you know that if the special meals aren't suitable for you, you can phone BA, select the amend flight option, and ask them to add your allergies to your passenger details (it has to be done per flight, as far as I'm aware). BA won't change the menu but the crew will do what they can for you with what's available.

Maybe one day BA will bring back pre-ordering (although not much use for starters and second meals). But hey - do I get a prize for being the first one to mention pre-ordering in the 2025 thread?
