Bit of a head scratcher today - would appreciate the forum's advice.

Arrived at GVA today with my family, all already checked in for our flight to LGW.

Checkin agent asking the people in the check-in line if anyone flying on the flight to LGW and to go to a specific checkin desk.

My family group was first and we were told our flight was cancelled and we had to be rebooked onto a flight to LHR instead. We told her our car was at LGW and she just said "BA will cover the cost to get to Gatwick". We told her the flight seemed to be still operating on the app and we had received no cancellation notification and she said "trust me, it will be cancelled".

As it turns out the flight wasn't cancelled at all - it was overbooked and rather than following the overbooking process, the checkin agents were just moving people to other flights claiming that our overbooked flight was cancelled.

I'm claiming this as IDB as the flight ran as scheduled and we were at checkin some 2.5 hours before departure. Would this be IDB do you think?
