If you use the Electronic Travel Credit for a nonrefundable ticket in the same name as your existing Future Flight Credits, and then cancel after 24 hours (wait ~28 hours or so for safety), you will get a new Future Flight Credit which, in most cases, can be combined with the existing ones.

You cannot combine Basic Economy with non-Basic Economy on the same ticket. You can buy a one-way Basic Economy ticket in one direction, and a one-way Premium Plus ticket in the other direction, but one-way international tickets are often much more than half of the corresponding round-trip fare.
