Like every other major airline BA invested heavily in new aircraft and interiors/cabins which are now late to arrive. So expansion and new routes only comes with new aircraft or a cull of old routes/frequency. The new investment needs to deliver new/more revenue hence the tweak to the FFP. The market won't wait till the new aircraft arrive or RR resolve its problems.
