OY (One of the revenue managements systems we have) has separate pools based on a bunch of different algos that calculate if a room is going to be sold or not by check in, if the room is calculated to be sold for cash or points by check in, it will only be available for cash or points and still be listed on marriott.com even if your NUA doesn't clear. If OY thinks we will
not sell it, then it goes into the pool available for NUAs to be filled and then if not taken by NUA requests, it will be available for comp upgrades on the day.
Fear not... Comp upgrades for plats+ are also going to get Bonvoy-ed this year too. It's going to become automated with an algo (Just like NUAs) later this year, I can't see anything going wrong with that
