United flight and travel credit and different classes on same booking
Hi, I have $1200 in future flight credit and $600 in travel credit. I did have a couple of flights booked but had to cancel, over time i did make some changes to the flights and add ons so have ended up with both types of credits.I want to book a new flight which will cost me $2100.
I can't book the flight using both credits and pay the $300 difference but if I book a flight using the travel credit that is over the credit amount and then cancel the flight, will the credit go back to travel or future flight credit? If it will go to future credit then I can use the total amount and just pay the difference.
This is an international flight that I will be booking. The first part of the booking will be in basic economy and the return flight will be in premium plus. Even with paying for an upfront seat, it still works out around $250 cheaper than economy. The fare rules with basic economy is i get a partial travel credit.. but cant really find any info on what that is but if the return flight is in premium plus on the same ticket, could that mean i could cancel all the ticket for credit?
