Future Direction of BA? (NOT BA[E]C Related)
So after the furore over some loyalty scheme or other, one of the big talking points created from it was what direction BA are going to take from 2025 onwards. If the airline will, or already has, decided that a slimmed down airline based on routes appealing mainly to flexible J tickets, and furthermore this seems to be pointed quite squarely at the USA, what does this mean for those of us for whom travel to an increasingly dysfunctional and isolationist USA (IMHO) is pretty unappealing?
I had a quick look at the “Our Route Network” page on the website and most of the destinations are code shares, but it is pretty clear without that page that BA long haul destinations are becoming increasingly focussed on a smaller global footprint.
The fallout for me particularly is that perhaps (still desperately trying to not mention that loyalty scheme) BA’s profile and my own leisure/adventure/see more of the world focus are simply diverging. So, I wonder what other people’s perceptions of how BA will suit them in the future are?
