The paradox to me is that BA "only" needs 80% of spend on BA for GGL whilst M&M HON and FB Ulti effectively require 100% on LH Group/AFKL but both the LH group and AFKL one have far broader international coverage than BA (which frankly, offers me limited long haul options outside of the US and a few sweet spots like South Africa and Sydney).
It's also the case that I can effectively get Ulti with 10 x connecting long haul J returns or HON with 13 x connecting long haul J returns whilst for BA, I'm probably looking at 20 (given that in my experience "eligible spend" is actually significantly below what I pay)

As far as I can remember, HON was always requiring to have 100% flying on LH Group. And it is more open as before the changes, only flights in J and F were counting for HON. Now Y and Y+ are counting.
HON still requires J/F only.
