What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond at check-in, Platinum at check-out
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Mostly yes.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Upgraded Standard with points, became 2 Double Standard (Classic Floor Superior Twin) the next day, and received the same at check-in. The front desk said that the room has been upgraded, but I believe Upgraded Standard is the same as Classic Floor Superior Room.
How are the rooms?
The room was quite large (31m^2) but somehow feel a bit crowded. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom felt modern, but the rest of the room was a bit dated. Surprisingly there was no air purifier in the room so we asked for one. After using it for sometime, our non-smoking room smelled like cigarette. I took the air purifier apart and realized they sent us one from a smoking room, and the filter was one of the grossest I have seen.
How is the exec. lounge?
The lounge was very large and didn't feel crowded during breakfast. The breakfast options were a bit limited (comparing to the main restaurants of the other Japanese CPs we have been to). But it did get very crowded during afternoon hours.
What was good and what was bad?
The good:
- One of the best CP lounges I have been to, and they allowed us to use it after check-out while we wait for the train
- Convenient access to public transit
- Very good redemption rate during the new year holiday
The bad:
- Lack of upgrade, although the hotel did make some higher category rooms available for reward nights at the same cost
- Room (except bathroom) felt dated
- Fluctuating water temperature
The ugly:
- Not a non-smoking hotel
- Wi-Fi is not encrypted (but very fast)
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The point rate was excellent value even though we didn't get a further upgrade. Much appreciated the recommendation from
Raynyan and
demue. If I have needs for hotels in Kansai this year, I would definitely visit again.
