I'd suggest Malaysia Airlines Enrich would be a better option if you do some Longhauls in Y or PY. By the looks of it, OWE (MH Platinum) would be attainable on them at a similar cost and travel pattern to attaining OWS (CX Gold). I myself am considering switching over to MH in a year or two.

However, if you're interested in booking flights through miles/points which you obtain, MH FFP looks like an inferior option to CX FFP.
