I’ve been going to Taichi for a few years without a problem but I’m always the only foreigner there although I had lunch beside an American Japanese couple before but they were fluent. Never any issue from the restaurant itself but I have been “inspected” by other customers a couple times who were curious why I was there and were waiting for me to do something amusing or dumb.

The one time I wanted to bring family with me, I was initially told no, but when reminded I was a regular, they allowed me to bring them provided I took responsibility for their conduct.
