AF/KL is notorious for having those accounts audited and make people fly/go through all kinds of hoops to get the account reactivated. It does not matter if the account was opened long ago if no flying activity has ever been recorded They even enjoy that it be widely publicized that the audit by a third party takes a long time, even when the result is favorable to the OP.
After reading many posts in Flying Blue and other forums, I am unable to offer any advice to Chemystery except wait and hope that it will be resolved soon
You may be right but in over 10 years of redeeming/transferring 8 figures of CC points mostly with non-US airlines including CX and AF/KLM I have had no issues and early on with both programs I never had credited a flight (I probably credited a flight to CX after about 8 years of redeeming points with them), I don't think I have ever credited to AF/KLM to this day). I still believe having an aged account helps (and at least it isn't going to hurt). But I will also admit all points come from bank currencies that are in my name, I only book for myself and less often up to three relatives that share my last name and are almost always flying on the same itinerary as me, etc. So I probably attract less attention in general than some others.
