Summary of stay in December

Hi,

After the hectic christmas and new year period, just seen I had not updated a my comments from early December.
Another very good stay ( little bit expensive ) but having used a Nor 1 upgrade for a king bay view from twin city view for Y8,500 per night , got upgraded to a bay view 1bdr suite ( Rm 3325) .Although close to the elevator lobby I did not hear any noise.
Hotel seemed to get busier towards Friday. For example
Wednesday - breakfast in cerise only ( I could also have breakfast in the el so tried both)
Thursday- China blue was used for overflow for breakfast. Selections seemed similar and seated in china blue
Friday- china blue was also used for breakfast overflow . I was also offered the choice of Cerise or china blue for seating.
very good turndown service in the evening and also cleaning was very good ( ie leaving in the morning around 10am and back by 2pm and room was clean before returning) New pj's placed on the bed
EL breakfast was good, Afternoon tea , sandwiches, cakes and small scones were good. Evening snacks were ok , more canape sized portions though one evening they had quiche slices also. Only had evening snacks one out of the three nights as I was out exploring the winter illuminations ( one night Shinjuku etc then the next night Tokyo dome city)
Japan times ( english newpaper) delivered in own small bag daily ( attached to outside of your room door handle)
They had a special seafood ramen dish in cerise for lunch. Very good and filling ( got the HH D 25% discount and dining points even after check out before heading to HND )
Service was very good. ( bought a few conrad bears ( christmas edition ) to take home from the spa and the spa staff wrapped them up and delivered them to my room a few minutes afterwards ( same with the Conrad Tokyo pj's for sale)

A few photos

The bed with pj's out and the Conrad bear ( first night turndown) on the pillow

The living room sofa with a filled ice bucket in the evening

A selection of cold canapes during the evening hours at the Executive lounge

The christmas decorations placed on the table in the executive lounge

The christmas tree at the ground floor elevator lobby

View from my room just before sunrise

The cerise breakfast a la carte menu. The lobster omelet was excellent as always

A christmas display in the Twenty eight lounge area

The christmas tree in the 28th floor lobby close to the check in area and hotel shop

Small christmas decoration placed between the 2 bathroom vanity sinks- a nice touch

The executive lounge scrambled eggs and sea urchin ( tasty if a little salty) ( also had the lobster omelet in Cerise a little earlier!)

The afternoon tea selection. Cream and jam for scones are at the far end out of sight

The whisky selection in the minbar

Some beautiful autumn colours at Koishikawa korauen garden ( close to Tokyo dome) helped by strong sunlight. Quite a few people in the gardens admiring the colours. Maybe just past peak but still magnificent and thanks to the metro ,easy to get to from the Conrad ( winter illuminations at tokyo dome very good also- have posted some more photos in the Japan photography thread)

Temperature was about 15-20 celsius at lunchtime. ( a bit warmer than normal) but with the sunshine, autumn colours and winter illuminations it is a very good time to visit. A fleece was good enough in the evenings if you kept walking ( in and out of shopping centres/metro etc)

Regards
