I am presuming that they have ILS and the aircraft had power as they only landed so far down the runway that was unable to stop. Mere speculation on my part but this is causing more confusion at this moment in time.
Surely in this age isn't it time that we get rid of these manuals and use something else that can give answers a lot more quicker?
