January 2 delay at YYZ (AC261)

Annoying start to 2025:

We are on FIN 483 to YWG (it was FIN 467 until a couple of hours before the scheduled departure). Gate agents announced just prior to boarding that there was no IFE nor wifi. Great.

There have been rolling delays due to an external part that has to be closed “manually” by maintenance crews. The pilot announced that we were to wait out a band of snow, deice, return to the gate, and then the panel would be closed by maintenance.

Passengers received $20 meal vouchers sent to their mobile app; however, we are onboard, and some people won’t return to YYZ within the 72-hours’ validity, so that’s helpful.

Update: Operations have decided now that we will take another plane to YWG (FIN 484). I can now use my voucher. Yay!
